Solidarity Fund PL in Ukraine

About us

Solidarity Fund PL is a fund of the State Treasury of the Republic of Poland.
The Fund’s core task is to implement cooperation and development projects. The Fund was created in 1997 on the initiative and honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland. Solidarity Fund PL operates under supervision and is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The Fund focuses on supporting democratic change, developing civil society, principles of good governance, local democracy, sharing experience on economic and political transformations, free media and human rights organizations.
Since 2011, the Fund has supported a number of Polish non-governmental organizations that provide support in crisis situations and emergency measures in Ukraine. Within the framework of the Polish-Canadian democracy support program (PKWD), which was coordinated by the Fund, 47 projects were financed in Ukraine in the field of decentralization reform and support for local media, including in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas. 

The Fund conducted educational events and supported organizations that monitor the observance of human rights in Crimea and Donbas, as well as provided ad hoc assistance to projects in the field of human rights protection:

In 2019, the SFPL UA Representative Office was registered. SFPL UA’s priority areas of work are support for the development of Amalgamated Territorial Communities, support for reforms in the area of social policy and education.

We provide advisory support from Polish experts to the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Education. We arrange visits of Polish experts to Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian experts and officials to Poland.
